Mati Pajo practises securities, corporate and commercial law.
In the securities area, Mati acts for clients on initial public offerings and private placements of securities, with an emphasis on investment funds including open- and closed-end mutual funds, pooled funds and limited partnerships. He advises issuers and investment fund managers with respect to fund mergers and reorganizations, exemptive relief applications, securityholder meetings, information circulars, continuous disclosure and regulatory compliance matters.
Mati acts for numerous portfolio managers, exempt market dealers and investment fund managers in connection with registration applications, exemption applications and ongoing compliance matters.
In the corporate/commercial area, Mati acts for clients in a wide range of industries on matters including the initial structuring and organization of the business vehicle, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, loan transactions, business acquisitions and divestitures, mergers and corporate reorganizations, franchising and licensing, corporate governance, and general commercial matters.
Mati takes a pragmatic, business-minded approach to legal issues, seeking to provide solutions that help clients accomplish their business objectives.
Mati is a member of the board of directors of the Estonian (Toronto) Credit Union Ltd.
